i'm build an application based on XUL, from mozilla. i want to
attach to the process; or better yet just choose the process and
start debugging. it's a massive project and very complex, but uses
gnu on the mac.
i like xcode's interface to gnu for debugging

If your project is an Xcode project, you can add a custom executable
(Firefox for example) and then lauch this executable using the
debugger (Menu Project > New Custom Executable…).
If this is not an Xcode project, you may probably do it using an empty
project too.
