Before the 4.0 install I renamed the old Xcode and Interface Builder to avoid overwriting them. Now I get an internal error when I try to do anything with Xcode 3.2.5 such as a build or even cleaning the project. I've included the error message below. There seems to be an error in an internal Xcode file called PBXTargetBuildContext.m in DevToolsCore. Can anybody tell me what I need to change or restore?
I think you might have screwed your previous installation. The Xcode 3.2.5 package installs way more things than just the Xcode and Interface Builder applications. When you ran the Xcode 4 installation package, many of those tools and libraries from 3.2.5 were probably replaced, which explains why now that you go back to 3.2.5, you're getting error. I think you should uninstall the developer tools from the script in /Developer/Library named "uninstall-devtools", then reinstall 3.2.5, assuming you still have the disk image.
