Re: [Xgrid] newbie questions on Xgrid running at Mac OS 10.4.2

Hello Tieo,
As Charles pointed out, you need to give the controller hostname and the password. If you go to the end of my article, to the comments, you can read some discussion about this. I forgot to put it in the main part of the article, unfortunately.

Drew

hi, all.

i am a university student and curenntly working a
project to setting up a cluster using G5 using Xgrid.

i have read through some articles from
http://www.macdevcenter.com/pub/a/mac/2005/08/23/xgrid.html

and follow the steps he told to do.

i do not use any password authentication. and
currently i had successfully set up a cluster with 3
G5.

i can see my cluster through xgrid admin. it showed
that 3 G5 is connected and i had
agents :3
working :0Hz
available :5.4 G Hz
unavailable : 0 Hz
job running : 0

and here come my problems:
i would like to give jobs for the cluster to execute,
but i don't know the way.

i do try to give job for the clustur through
terminal. i follow the command that i read from some
articles.

xgrid -job run /bin/hostname
xgrid -grid list

and others.

but the terminal always shows a list of command,
teaching me the command using xgrid - XXXXXX

i followed the command but te same thing stil
happened.

what i trying to do now is to submit a simple task to
the cluster and execute it.

is there any good articles that recommanded to read
through to complete the tasks.

thanks for reading to this newbie question. hope
someone can answer me this question or guide me to the
right ways.

thanks
