Hi all,
I'm presently preparing a paper for Management (you know, that many-
headed Hydra !!) on the benefits of Xgrid, and why this University
should allow its' Macintosh laboratories (current one is 26 x G4's -
to be upgraded to dual-G5's, plus the addition of a new lab) to be
used for things such as the Stanford Xgrid Biochemical Modelling
project.
Does anyone have any links to Xgrid "success" stories, or really
interesting projects that I could use as "ammunition" ? Given that
the machines are sitting idle every night and all weekend, all it's
going to cost the University is a little electricity and some small
amount of bandwidth, and the *possible* public kudos for
participating would certainly be good for business (at least that's
the line I'm taking) !
