I have an annoying issue. My computer is called "_my_computer_". If I
try XgridCal example it usually does not connect to my controller
(_my_computer_), unless I add a "new" controller '_my_computer_.local'
(or localhost) or I change my /etc/hosts for:
127.0.0.1 localhost _my_computer_
I also tried XgridSample and Xgrid Mandelbrot (from Xcode examples).
They surely connect via _my_computer_.local, or localhost, although
sometimes they connect via short name '_my_computer_'; /etc/hosts
solution does not seem to work for them (neither for Xgrid Admin from
Apple Server Admin Tools).
_my_computer_ is the default name that always appears when opening any
xgrid graphical application.
Besides, if I use CLI xgrid -h _my_computer_ ... it works.
So, the bottom line is why sometimes just the short name (default)
_my_computer_ works, otherwise I always have to use 'localhost' or
_my_computer_.local?
If someone can shed lights here, I would be very grateful.
Cheers,
Alan
