We have recently purchased a controller with Mac OS X server 10.6.1. We also have several Mac Pro's most of them running Snow Leopard and a few running Leopard.
I am trying to integrate Maya rendering (via mental ray) with Xgrid. I think nothing is wrong with the setup because the Xgrid Admin can recognize all the machines on the network. Also, I was successful using GridStuffer to submit a simple job from a client node and receive on the same node.
However, when I tried to submit rendering jobs using the GridStuffer the Xgrid Admin starts the job on one machine and fails, and keeps repeating this process infinitely.
I also tried a script that was submitted by Jeremiah Sypult 5 years ago (http://lists.apple.com/archives/Xgrid-users/2005/Nov/msg00033.html)! When I run the script I always fail to mount the network, I am suspecting I might be doing something wrong with the mount source. Perhaps I am not using the AFP mount right (afp://username:password@hostname/sharename).
So I am looking for any help with the GridStuffer approach or the script approach. It would also be extremely helpful if there is other new approaches that might be more efficient and user friendly.
Thanks in advance,
