I cover cvgather whenever I talk about Xsan and/or data
protection/backup (I have also asked that it be more prominently
mentioned in future versions of our documentation. What it does
is very simple but incredibly useful. Before finding it I used
to just tell folks to back up the config dir.

Ahh, people have noticed the new forum. (Yes, the front page post
makes it
obvious.)
There has been some questions about our intentions with this and I'll
just
lay it out plain and simple. Our readers were already asking Xsan
questions in the forums and some of them had requested a separate
Xsan
forum.
It's not an attempt to steal Xsanity's thunder. Far from it, we think
they
have a great site.
It's not a change in the main focus of AFP548.com from Server to
Xsan.
It's not an attempt to cash in on anything. There is most definitely
no
cash involved in the site!
We are just trying to meet the needs of our ever-expanding
readership.
While we still feel that Xsanity offers more in-depth Xsan coverage,
we
hope you feel free to participate in our forum as well.
Thanks,
Josh
