Re: Rebooting a secondary controller.

you can issue the command from your main controller:

sudo cvadmin -e "fail volname" <-- where volname is your SAN disk

How do you bring up a secondary meta data controller in Xsan without it becoming primary.  Every once in a while my secondary controller locks up due to corruption on the SAN. How do I bring up the second and have it act as a  secondary controller. The secondary comes up as primary and I cant get it to demote itself without downing the WHOLE VOLUME. Is there a way to keep up the volume and reboot the second controller and get it back into secondary instead of coming up and both primary and secondary thinking they are primary?
