First question on this list ... I'm afraid there will be more !
Quite everything is in the title : with your user's experience, what is the best choice for FC switches in pure XSan environment. And is there real, technical arguments ?

It seems to be clear : it will be QLogic ... probably 5202 ... or may be 5602 ! Thanks to your answers !

Two of them will be stacked in server room and one more will be stacked in a "backup room" whose distance is about 650 m : can I have cupper XPAK transceiver for local stacking and fiber for long distance ?

Yes. You can get a 3 or 8" Cu XPAK for use within a rack (adjoining U's)

You can then go optical (long or short range) to extend the connection via XPAK optical transceivers.

And is it standard or QLogic specific ?

XPAK is an industry standard for 10Gig (you will also see it in 10GigE)

I feel stupid ... ;-)

No stupid questions only stupid answers.... ;)
