Sorry for such a late reply, but does Xsan use the fsmlist file as adic
does? If so it could be wise to check what the entries for your various
file systems look like. In Adic land on the mdc you would have something
like this:
scans1 . 0
scans2 . 0
scans4 . 0
scans5 . 0
scans3 . 0
projects1 . 0
And on the failover you would have:
scans1 . 1
scans2 . 1
scans4 . 1
scans5 . 1
scans3 . 1
projects1 . 1
The format of an fsmlist line is:
<File_System_Name> [<HostName or IP address or (.)>] [<priority>]
Failover has prio of 1 main, mdc has a prio of 0. So on my example scans1
is the fsname, the dot signifies that the desfault IP address for the fsm
should be localhost.
Perhaps your fsm's are forcing elections over to the newest (most recently
rebooted) host if they both have the same prio?
The file is in the config dir of the ADIC installation, ie /usr/cvfs/config,
and most likely somewhere similar in XSAN land. I'll install XSAN on this
machine and take a look.
Best,
Chris
