Re: San speed testing

This particular San has two Raid heads each with a single 4.6TB volume of FC JBOD.
The theoretical sustained bandwidth is 450MB/s read 325M/s write from each volume.
What sort of sustained bandwidth do others achieve with their Sans?
Is there a speed tester that can be run on ADIC Windows or Linux clients ot controllers?

Thanks,

Martin

Can you give us some more information on your SAN?

The UNIX test should be higher becasue it uses less overhead and makes
direct read and write calls.

In some ways you may be comparing apples and oranges becasue these
tests do not allow you to control IU size or how many concurrent I/O
operations (streams) are running.
