Hello,
We are in a process of refactoring our Xsan storage. Now all our Open
Directory users' home directories are on the Xsan volume. This raises some
serious problems when we reboot MDC (or it fails). OpenDirectory server
freezes too. As I suppose OpenDirectory server must have this Xsan volume
mounted constantly because it writes something all the time there. I was
thinking about connecting additional XserveRAID chassis formatted as simple
Apple RAID volume directly to the server using the second FC card port
(first runs Fibre connection to Xsan Fibre switch) and copper. Is this wise?
What about performance? What could be the downsides of such setup?
