Moving data storage pool

Hi,

Currently we have one storage pool with two LUN's. Problem is that we're having performance issues with handling small files (less than 5 MB). Thanks to this mailing list a stripe breadth of 256 was noticed on this storage pool. This is incorrect regarding the admin guide. We're using a 4K blocksize so the Stripe breadth should be (1MB / (1 storage pool / 2 luns) / 4) 128. Because we're running out of space we're expanding the volume. What I want to accomplish is moving all the data to the new storage unit (with the correct Stripe Breadth), bring the current down, format the pool with the correct Stripe Breadth (of 128) and add it again to the volume.

I want to ask you what the best method would be for moving the data. Should this be done with snfsdefrag?

Please advice.

Thanks in advance.

Kind Regards,

Martin van Diemen
