I only have one Xsan Volume and it is mounted and everything seems fine on all hosts. I checked and my FCP paths to storage look. I am not using an xraid for the backend storage but that should not matter. Do you have a compelling reason to run the metadata service? This is used by Spotlight and the occasional third party software such as CrashPlan Pro. Some people do, some people don't -- but you can head off a lot of troubleshooting effor if you determine it's not appropriate and turn it off.
