I am not sure how many of you use "Windows Live" services (they are
all in beta, and just to keep on top of what is going on in "the other
half" of the IT world, I typically take part in all betas public and
private that I am permitted in to).
Microsoft has made a change which really shocked me (perhaps it's part
of the Bill Gates leaving MS move, not sure).
As you may or may not know, Microsoft typically keeps all "advanced"
features of their online services specific to Internet Explorer.
Well, in a jaw dropping move, Windows Live now supports FireFox with
all of the same advanced features as Internet Explorer and they are
even bragging about it.
Still no Safari support, but I am sure it's will not be far off for either:
1) Safari to support FireFox pages out of the box
2) MS to adopt Safari support.
It's not simply a matter of browser identification. I was able to
successfuly get Windows Live to ignore the browser type and send the
FireFox native pages to Safari, but Safari does not interpret them
correctly.
Anyhow, I just thought I would mention this as I think it is a
significant change in the MS mentality to support the browser that is
rapidly gaining market share on them.
