The reality of the problem is that one can make a strong argument that
Windows will meet almost anyone's needs just fine. How you measure "meet
your needs" is in the eyes of the beholder and depending on weather you are
defending Windows or OSX it can be quite different.
Generally I justify it by stating that it is an easy to use platform that
allows me to do my tasks effectively and efficiently. OSX UNIX foundation
provides compatibility with the wealth of applications built for *NIX
allowing me to utilize a number of things to perform my duties even better
by leveraging a large number of resources.
In the case of biological warfare your friend could probably quote some
things that run on OSX. Only thing that comes to mind, albeit a stretch is
