Sounds like you have an SCM Microsystems reader and an Oberthur
card. :)
Is there some recent CAC guidance for Leopard that works? I need
step by step cookbook instructions. The steps I have used either
simply don't work or work partially, but, in the end, the keychain
does not see my new card.
There a known bug with T=1 protocol cards and the shipping versions of
PCSC-lite and libccid on Leopard, not yet fixed. You have a couple of
options:
-- SCM has published updated drivers, but installing them requires
compiling libusb and a couple of other updated packages first--not for
the faint of heart.
-- Get a different reader. Somewhere in the fed-talk archives a
couple of readers working with Apple's libccid and T=1 protocol cards
(like the Oberthur) were mentioned.
-- Pull down Thursby's ADmitMac for CAC beta. The .dmg contains a
package with an updated libccid library for Leopard. This is the
easiest at the moment, if you don't want to replace your reader.
