the $29 is not a big deal, but now my personal Apple ID has lion as a past purchase and it lets me download it on all of my MacBook Pro and MacPro machines, so I want to make sure that when retail does come out, I get it legitimately for personal use, and that my personal is not tied to ADC account if that makes sense…
I am using it for development now, as I will when retail ships, however, if there is a legal fine line I want to make sure I am legitimate.
Believe me, from what I have seen of Lion so far, it is well, well, well, WELL worth $29.

Developer software is for developer use. If you pay for an ADC membership ($99), you get access to beta and GM versions of certain software. Read the information on the ADC website on how this can be used. Saying your $99 pays for Lion only means it pays for its use for development use. If that's what you do, then you can use it. I wouldn't associate ADC membership dues with right to use software in the sense Mike is asking. ADC does not download a "retail" version of any software although they do allow downloading of the version, more or less, that goes to the non-ADC public.
$29 is a few lattes at Starbucks, what's the big deal?
As far as the redemption code, Walter is correct but the code, like every App Store purchase, is assigned to your AppleID. Therefore, it can be used per the conditions as defined in the App Store (and ADC). Think about that for your answer.

The developer redemption codes are one-time only codes.

I'm curious about this as well (since this would more than pay for the membership) but it seems it has to be the case since you can download full versions of all prior versions of Mac OS X.

Okay so I have the Lion developer connection membership… Do these included the retail downloads as well upon release?
The reason I am asking, is that I used my personal apple ID to redeem the code to get Lion, not my dev connection (which it let me do)… So when it releases retail is it like the good old days where we get to download the retail one also?
Thanks,
Mike
