Hello: I still don't know how to tell Blackbox it has the wrong terminal. Along with this, I have this error message (tcsh_initdir:undefined variable) in my OS X terminal. The only discussion of this -that I found- is from an August 2002 correspondence at: http://www.esm.psu.edu/mac-tex/MacOSX-TeX-Digests/2002/MacOSX- TeX_Digest_08-16-02.html

Since I'm an OS 9 user coming to OS X and Unix only recently (Not Unix to OS X), I'm hesitant to touch anything until I know what I'm doing. Thanks for any fixes or leads
