I just finally upgraded to 10.3, including installing x11.app;
up til now I've been using XDarwin. I'm mostly satisfied; it's
certainly faster and the integration between X and MacOS is
generally better. But: under XDarwin, if I selected something
in an xterm, I could then switch to a MacOS app and paste that
text; in x11.app I have to take the additional step of hitting
command-C first. I thought I'd seen discussion of this problem,
and a fix, on the list, but haven't been able to find it in the
archives. Anyone know how to fix this?
I have another, more subtle problem that I'll bet I'm just stuck
with. I use ctwm with AutoRaise turned on. If I'm in a MacOS
application and the mouse pointer strays over an X app peeking
out from behind it, that X window will steal the _visual_ foreground.
I.e. I'm in Safari, the mouse strays off to the left side of the
Safari window, where the a little strip of an xterm is visible,
and the xterm comes into the foreground, obstructing part of the
Safari window. Safari remains the foreground application, but
I have to click on its window to make it take over the visual
foreground again. Does anyone know if there's a way to tell
x11.app to ignore mouse events if it's not the foreground app?
Thanks in advance,
---Alex
