I'm writing one. More are in the works, I'm sure.
This is one of those enabling technologies that no application should be
without. Among other things, the law is clear -- the federal government,
state government agencies relying on federal money, and educational
institutions relying on federal money, cannot legally purchase software that
fails to meet Section 508 requirements. If you don't support it, you're
locked out of those markets. This law has only been in effect for a few
months and I don't think it has received full enforcement attention from the
Justice Department yet, but it will.
Plus, the infrastructure Apple is developing will support cool utilities for
all of us. If your app isn't accessible, it won't work with those utilities.
