The problem is that it does not seem possible to recognize a single tap when VoiceOver is on, probably the event is filtered by the operating system.
Add a third party TTS engine would solve my problem, but I agree with Alex to say that it's a shame that Apple has not released the API for VoiceOver.
I can't go into detail of the features of the program, but the gesture recognition should remain as it is now, since the gestures are designed specifically for blind users.
