There is this book, "Adobe Illustrator SCRIPTING, with Visual Basic and Applescript". It's published by Adobe Press.
It has everything from the easy to the complex. Any serious Applescripting company should have a copy :).

Moving objects? What kind of object and in what way do you want to move it?
There are many different ways to accomplish this( according to this book ).
