I didn't say when you were going to have problems. But hey, if you LIKE
having to configure everything and having no real ad hoc network
functionality, and you don't want any easy way to discover services on
computers nearby or base stations, or printers, then disable away. And if
you need any sort of support on your OS, then you're not going to get it if
you're diddling the low level config like that.
Of course, every os update will most likely undo it.
And I still have yet to figure out *why*
