I understand that I'm going to have to rewrite all the UI code, but can I reuse the NIB file from my old ASS project? I understand that XCode 4 uses XIB instead of NIB files; is there a way to import an XCode 3 ASS NIB into XCode 4 (or to import the entire project)? Do I need to do anything special to undo all the old ASS connections from the NIB to the script?
Yes and no...
Some nibs give a dialog saying that an internal inconsistency was found and repaired, and: "AppleScript data is not supported in Xcode 4. The AppleScript data in this NIB file has been removed." Others stubbornly refuse to open. On anything serious, I'd be a little cautious. I've done it with a couple of projects, and what I do is open the old project, copy the window or whatever, and paste it into the new project nib. That might be over-cautious, but I figure it should clean things out.
