OK, so, for the new class: What are the appropriate properties? An AppleScript class? An IB Class Description?
How/where can I enter this data?
I'd like something like this:
> Defaults
Reset to default
Make default...
> Presets
Last Used
Preset1
Preset 2
Something like that.
I'm new to the views in general, so pardon my slowness.
I really appreciate all your help, but I hate to waste so much of your time. It would be great if anyone knows of a good tutorial about this stuff (I couldn't find one).
Thanks!

You make a new class (File -> New File) and give it the appropriate
properties.

The linking is done via an NSTreeController. How you format it depends very
much on what you're trying to achieve. As I said, outline views are
complicated -- there's no simple answer.
