Greetings from Macworld!
We had hope to get the AUGB out on Monday, but as usual Macworld and
Macworld user group activities took precedence.
The fifth User Group University was held Tuesday, July 16, and was the best
ever. I know I always say that, and it has always been true. David Pogue was
the keynote speaker for UGU in the evening; as usual he wowed the crowd.

2] - Focus Group - Take Two

On July 10, the User Group Advisory Board conducted the second in a
series of focus groups with user group leaders. Macbeth Vannoy of North
Coast Macintosh Users Group of Ohio, Sid Pevear of Macintosh Chico User
Group, George Engel of Upstate Apple Users Group, George Carbonell of
Hartford User Group Exchange, and Arman Assa of North Carolina State
University Mac Users Group participated in the conference call, with User
Group Advisory Board Chair Chuck Joiner facilitating the discussion.

Thirty user group leaders representing five different user groups
gathered in Lakewood, Colorado on July 2 for dinner and a discussion led
by Apple's User Group Program Manager Garr Reynolds. The attendees,
including many students from Colorado University and Colorado State,
shared thoughts on how to grow their groups and reach out to new people.
Kudos go to Lynn Poos, Apple's User Group Regional Liaison for the South

4] - User Group Night at SoHo Apple Store, July 21

Apple is celebrating the opening of the first Apple Store in New York
City
with a private night just for Apple user group members, their families,
and ACN (Apple Consultants Network) members.
The event brings Apple User Group members and Apple Consultants Network
members together from throughout New York, giving attendees the
opportunity to meet and share information about their groups and the
activities they offer.
You'll have the chance to speak with Apple product managers, who will
be conducting special Jaguar demonstrations and will be on hand to answer
your questions about Apple's newest products.
As a special offer for this evening only, there will be a special gift
with the purchase of $250 or more, and the first 200 people through the
doors will get a gift as well.
User Group Night will take place on Sunday, July 21, from 7:00 to 9:00
PM at the new Apple Store in SoHo at Prince and Green.
