MACFAIR, APCUG, CHRIS BREEN AND MUG DEALS IN THE NEW USER GROUP REPORT
After over one year of featuring Macintosh User Group leaders and events
and receiving a terrific listener response, The User Group Report
expands. Starting with this show we'll have more guests, give you more
information and have more fun with the world of Macintosh User Groups.
The show features a review of upcoming events on the MUG Event Calendar
as well as interviews with:
- Keith Mueller, the organizer of Southern California Mac Fair 2002
talks about his upcoming regional Mac event, how and why Macintosh User
Groups are included, why is business, a member of the Apple Consultants
Network, supports MUGs, and more.
- Christopher Sarson, Chair of the Board of Advisors and Secretary of
the Association of Personal Computer User Groups, outlines what APCUG is,
what it offers to user groups of all platforms, their upcoming annual
conference in Las Vegas and why why regional events may be the wave of
the future.
- Chris Breen, columnist for Macworld magazine and author of Secrets of
the iPod and Mac 911, discusses why he supports user groups, what he gets
back from user group visits and his recent keynote address at the North
Coast Macintosh User Group's Mac Computer Expo.
- Lorene Romero, the User Group Advisory Board's Vendor Liaison, reviews
how she gets exclusive deals for Macintosh User Groups, where the
information can be found and how it should be used, and summarizes the
most recent offers for November.

FINAL CUT PRO USER GROUP THEATER TO SHOWCASE MUG iMOVIES AT MACWORLD EXPO
In January, Macworld Expo in San Francisco will feature the second Final
Cut Pro User Group Theater. The theater will be hosted by the Boston
Final Cut Pro User Group, in conjunction with other FCP user groups,
including SF Cutters, the Los Angeles Final Cut Pro User Group and Mac
Filmmakers. The theater will feature a full schedule of classes, sessions
and spotlights on the many aspects of digital storytelling.
One of the sessions will be a showcase of iMovies produced by Macintosh
User Groups. Many MUGs around the globe are creating and using iMovies to
spotlight and promote their group, document their events, and more.
If your group would like international exposure in this showcase, get
your movies ready to submit. Entries will be accepted in November.
Details on how to submit will be available soon.
ADOBE USER GROUP BREAKFAST ANNOUNCED FOR MACWORLD EXPO
Adobe will hold their traditional User Group Breakfast on Thursday,
January 9, 2003 in San Francisco. There is a limit of two representatives
per user group. Registration information and URL have been sent to your
group's leadership; please contact them and coordinate who will attend
from your group.
FREE EXHIBITS-ONLY PASS TO MACWORLD EXPO FOR USER GROUPS ENDS MONDAY!
The special offer of free Exhibit Hall passes to Macworld Conference &
Expo in San Francisco is about to expire. Through October 28 at 11:59 PM
