Good evening!
Last night after Your Mac Life, I decided to poke about the YML web
site
(http://www.yourmaclife.com) to find Sly's Web Site of the Week. (You
DO
listen to YML, don't you?) I found an interesting forum there where
subscribers can buy, sell, swap, whatever they need to unload. Cool!
That also made me wonder...how do your groups handle swap fests,
rummage
sales and other opportunities for your members to buy, sell, or
exchange
Mac-related stuff?
Let us hear from you!
Good morning!
We have an online sales and wants page on our website at
http://mmug.org.uk/sales&wants.html
We've made this page available to anyone, not just members as a service
to the wider mac community, but its mainly members who use it.
We've had some problems with it lately with some Chinese based users
selling wire mesh on the site. I'm not sure if mmug or macintosh
translates into meshed steel, but its very odd so excuse the site if a
mesh advert is online, we're currently blocking IPs as they appear!
The page also prompted a bring and buy/sell table at our meetings which
hasn't been over used, but has a few hard drives, some memory and the
occasional gadget for sale by people at meetings. I've dug out a box of
SCSI cables for the next meeting, you never know what someone might be
looking for!
Cheers
B.
