SIGs...
Well let's see.
In Apple Corps (of Dallas) [http://www.acd.org]
we have: 7 SIGs
Graphics (moderated by me)
Final Cut Pro (moderated by Carl Stewart)
Mac Help SIG (moderated by Dru Richman; assisted by me)
Digital Photography (moderated by Barry Kerzner)
Mac OS X SIG (moderated by Ray Thompson; occasionally assisted by Ron
Parsons and I)
Genealogy (moderated by Ron Parsons)
Apple ][ (moderated by Lawrence Allen)
In PlanoMUG [http://www.planomug.com]
we are yet to have a SIG (but then we're only 3 months old and growing)
The BEST way to start a SIG is to
a) allocate regular time for it - either every meeting or every other
meeting
b) Have someone REALLY passionate about the subject matter as the
moderator...
which is usually how a SIG gets started...someone who is really jazzed
on a subject or really curious (or both) wants to have a special
session on just that subject...
in other words ... a Special Interest Group or a SIG!
