Management of Apple's huge downtown store allows The Rest of Us in Chicago
to meet monthly in their auditorium. We've been told a while back that we're
one of the few, mostly at the largest Apple Stores and where store managers
are willing to support. From what we can gather, it's a very limited
privilege, not overall Apple policy. We must--and happily do--abide by a
long set of rules and regulations on everything from how and when we conduct
meetings and our ourselves to who presents and various product & discount
restrictions and more.
We consider ourselves quite lucky and obviously grateful for the privilege.
As it took not only time but strong efforts of our past and current group
leaders, I'd encourage anyone who thinks they might be able to work out a
similar relationship to work closely with management, show how it can
benefit both sides--and most of all, be very patient and willing to go along
with whatever arrangements any store wishes to or must impose with any level
of cooperation.
