Thanks for the sympathy, John. Noting that it's the typical reaction from within the US. It's definitely a reaction of "I'm alright Jack" which isn't helpful. Here's why I think most offers for mug members are US centric: first, the overwhelming majority of mug members live in the US. Second, it's too friggin' expensive to ship anything of value outside the US because of transportation and tariffs, that by the time you had to pay all that, when it finally got to you, the deal isn't so special anymore.
Apple has sites in other countries too.... So back to my original admonition, I'm sure the mug members that are outside the US would appreciate it if someone from outside the US would take the lead, develop contacts with companies outside the US, negotiate special deals for mug members outside the US, then communicate them with all the non-US mug members.
The way we've handled it (being 300 miles+ and a different country away from the nearest Apple presence) is by allying ourselves with a local Service Provider. The resellers here were all very dismissive of us.
The AASP has held our meetings, given prizes and really made time for us.
Apple, despite having a very big presence in the UK, hasn't done anything for us.
