Sorry - but I disagree.
I'm not saying that Apple can't reject unsolicited comments but the

Do you honestly think this was sent RUDELY? You think a corporation
sent a poison pen-letter?
I've seen Apple's boilerplate for these sort of letters. It's in
plain english. It's not rude. It's not condescending.
Apple's star may be bright today but they can't afford to alienate
tomorrow's customers.
There's no need to ruin anyone's career here. But surely offering
some wise
counsel to the people who put this ham-fisted policy in place would
be wise.
It's not ham-fisted. It's boilerplate. It's on their web page. Ignore
at your own peril.
Large companies need to be told that they can't treat people like
sh1t.
Is there any evidence of Apple doing this?
BTW - is Apple so great that they can't receive suggestions from their
customers? Companies that disregard their customers discover the
secret to
building small businesses; start with large ones and stop listening to
customers. One would have though that, given Apple's history,
they'd listen
to their customers.
Suggestions represent intellectual property. Apple doesn't accept
them because of the vague status of ownership with regards to ideas.
Say you suggest something to Apple. Who owns the suggestion? You?
Apple? If Apple implements the idea, who gets the credit? If
something was added to the iPod just before it got successful, would
someone other than Apple be able to take the credit?
See the problem? This is a grown up world.
Time to grow up.
