Title: Re: AUGD: Woz
I also want to agree with Dennis. Last year I was fortunate enough to convince Woz to come and visit our group. He lives about 50 miles away and drove in typical California rush hour commute traffic for more than hour to get to us. We packed an auditorium with 240 people (normally we have 60-70 that show up). He spoke for nearly 2 hours and answered a whole bunch of questions. We sold and he autographed 100 of his books. We had the whole event recorded and you can still see it at http://woz.lumeralis.com/ Enjoy!

Before this thread gets out of hand, I want to say the following:
I hope that I'm misunderstanding the tone of these recent messages.
On the one occasion that we asked Woz to visit our club (for our 25th anniversary), he flew to Rochester, sat two chairs away from me when he went out to dinner with our board of directors, and gave a great presentation at our local community college auditorium in front of hundreds of people.
We used that meeting as a fundraiser and advertised the visit to the public. We had Woz sign an Apple II, and then sold it on ebay for over $1000. We also had him sign mousepads, and a copy of his floating point routines written in assembly.
We also had the event professionally videotaped, which we then converted to DVD and sold via our website.
He was a kind, generous, friendly guy. I'm proud to have met him. Our club literally wouldn't be here without him.

I'm guessing that many of you have been visited by Steve Wozniak at
your User Groups. Lucky you :-)
Um, no.
We're a bit ignored in this regard in the Middle East
I guess we're a bit ignored in the North East (U. S.) as well...
