Chris, your MUG seems to have a fair approach.
When I initially responded to , what to me sounded like very
negative comments, I clearly stated that each MUG has to work out for
itself what its members need and how to (of if) respond to that need.
IF a group has no one using the old stuff or only a few doing so,
that group should do things differently than, for instance , a group
where a good % of members still run older Macs (G3 ) and /or use
Classic (in G4 Macs).
Many older persons who join a MUG may, indeed, have older equipment
out of habit, slow to change reasons or because they got their Macs
handed down from adult children or neices, nephews and possibly for
financial reasons( fixed income). As someone who has done extensive
consulting with older persons(and yes, I moved them to OSX!), I
advocate that we treat these fellow classic Mac users with
sensitivity.
Sincerely
Barbara Passman
