Back on the subject, BTW. The script, below is another copy I created
to test - it is a little cleaner. Easy and no purchase necessary.
Tips:
Create a "smart group" in address book that are past due members.
Make sure the text file containing the content is a plain text file.
Comment out send new message, as is below, this gives you a chance to
review the email before it goes out.
You could set up a iCal reminder the runs the script once a month.
Just put an event on your calendar that runs the script as an alarm
(this is why OSX Hints created the script in the first place. )
Works like a charm.
-------8<-----------
set theAccount to "blah blah blah"
set theSubject to "Welcome to my email system"
set theText to "" as alias -- between the quotes insert path to
text file as in HD:users:me:documents:form.txt
set theContent to read theText
set theaddress to "Smart Group"
tell application "Mail"
activate
set newMessage to make new outgoing message with properties
{account:theAccount, subject:theSubject, content:theContent}
tell newMessage
make new to recipient at end of to recipients with properties
{address:theaddress}
set visible to true
end tell
--send new message
end tell

I've looked at Automator and Address Book and neither seem to offer
a way to send emails to those whose anniversary is in the past.
Before I spend a lot of time troubleshooting this issue, is there
any advice from other user groups about how they handle the
situation?
Apple Script - something like this (via Mac OSX Hints)
