Hi from Chicago :)
We are using a home made AppleWorks database to track our member info.
The database contains a lot of the usual info - name, address, and so
forth, their membership dates (joined date, renew date) as well as a
photo of most of the individuals, comments, and some other odds and
ends.
Our database serves two main purposes - one is that it allows us to
track membership so that we can send out things like members only
discounts, renewals, and the like. The other is that we use it to
print addresses on communications that are mailed out to our members.
The updating of the database is done by board members. We have one
master database, and that file gets shared between us as needed.
What are other groups doing to keep track of their membership? Does
anyone out there have a solution that they really like and are willing
to share with us? I like AppleWorks, but I want to see if there might
be a more modern and less labor intensive way to do all this work.
Thanks for the kind help!
Best wishes,
Russ Conte
