We also use FMP. Our set up in FMP was done in the 80s and has been
updated slightly when we have someone who is knows more about FMP.
I manage it but do no changing to the set up. It works well for our
group. COMUG (Central Oregon Macintosh Users Group). We currently
have 55 members. What we need is a simple way to have a list
server. We have been using dot mac groups. Apple is not longer
supporting that and we can't add or delete members. If anyone has a
simple way to send out e-mails to the group using one e-mail
address please let me know.
Thank you,

The HMAUS FMP database uses a plugin to enable sending email to
members, individually or by sets. For example: those whose membership
are due to expire this month.
HMAUS also uses LetterRIP and Mailman. Good for broadcast or
discussion lists.
There are list vendors (Yahoo, etc) which can be used, instead.
The first question: Do you want to ONLY broadcast to members or allow
members to "talk" amongst themselves, or do both?
