Hi,
We have now renamed our Mac User Group from Kernow (Cornwall) Mac User Group to Cornwall Mac User Group, as our membership stated that many people won't realise that Kernow is the celtic name for Cornwall.
Plus, as you may have noticed from our website that our logo has changed for the better and our link banners are now more pleasing to the eye.
We do still have a conflict in name with Devon & Cornwall Mac User Group also known as Plymouth User Group in Devon, as people seem to believe that we are a sub group and we aren't at all.
Have tried to make contact with them in order to sort out the conflict in name of their inclusion of Cornwall to no avail, as none of their email addresses seem to be operable and bounce back as user unknown.
Does anyone know how we can sort out the conflict in name please?
Posters are now available for download from our website, plus we are to distribute throughout Cornwall over the coming days, as all of the colleges and upper schools have made contact to place our posters upon their notice boards and we are obtaining support in giving out the name and contact details of our group to anyone visiting computer sales shops too, who have purchased a Mac and require help or express an interest in learning more.
Additionally, is their anyway of finding out the business names and contacts that use Macs within Cornwall, in order to inform them of our group ?
As you will now realise we are actively trying to inform everyone that our Mac User Group in Cornwall, UK is very much alive and active, plus have now ordered a couple of car door signs for my 4x4 to display the user group website address and banner to the thousands of holidaymakers, that enjoy their holidays in our beautiful county too!, which should be of benefit to other groups too, in finding a user group within their local area and can only increase the interest in Macs. Plus adverts within the FREE sections of newspapers will be promoting our group too. More marketing ideas are on their way for our Mac User Group.
Regards and have a great Mac Day!, Stefan Elliott Cornwall Mac User Group Cornwall, UK
