02 DOJ nabs Scareware crime rings
Strike one for the good guys! Scareware is a rampant
cyber crime technique. More than 1 million victims have
incurred over $74 million in actual losses. On June 22 the
U.S. Department of Justice and the FBI, along with
international law enforcement partners, brought down a
significant crime ring that had been pursuing us all!

03 Facebook Malware Attack - BEWARE
(Last Wednesday) Do not click in any email from Facebook.
Yet another new malware attack has hit Facebook
-- this one with some twists.

[UPDATE: since posting there have been six (6) new waves,
with six different subject lines and target addresses!]

04 Official MobileMe to iCloud FAQ
Gary Kampel, UGN colleague, posted "Apple confirms iWeb
hosting, iDisk to end in 2012 The company will discontinue
some of its MobileMe services when it transitions to iCloud"
to his FaceBook wall on Friday ...
The official announcement concerning what products will
be included in Apple's move from MobileMe to iCloud has been
posted. This has been done in the form of an FAQ.

05 SideFolders
SideFolders Many of you, like me, prefer to have your
DOCK over to the right side and hidden until you roll over
it. After all, it does make a lot more sense than at the
bottom -- you've got plenty of horizontal space, but very
little vertical. The folks at Code529 also figured that out
and have launched SideFolders!

06 Video Email for iPad
Mirage Labs has announced Video (& Photos) Email 1.0.0
for iPad, the first app that truly extends Email Sharing
capability of the default Photos app. iPad users no longer
would be frustrated with the message "Video Is Too Long"
when trying to attach video larger than 54 seconds, because
of the native Photos app's own limitations.

14 Mailbag: Email, IM, or Phone?
Effective communication can be very difficult when
communication channel preferences aren't shared across a
group, organization, or even a multi-company project. A

effectiveness regardless of your communication channel

15 Mailbag: Apple Feeds and Facebook
* ARMUG asks: Does Apple publish Facebook pages as
microblogs to distribute their latest news/PR? If so, where
are they, and how can I tell which Apple pages come from
Apple and which are from non-Apple sources?
* Wurster - Mac-Focused IT Support responds: Not sure about
any Facebook connection, but all of the PR can be found at
apple.com/pr/, and there are about a dozen or so different
RSS feeds you can subscribe to.
