01 7 reasons to switch to iPad 2
Jennifer Jacobson writes "Since purchasing my iPad a few
months ago, I have to say that it's far more than a giant
iPhone. However, now we have iPad 2. I ask : what would be
reasons to switch from iPad to iPad 2?"

02 iMovie '11 may not suck
Fred sez: I don't know if you were upset when iMovie
took a nosedive - but I sure was. The new version suddenly
looked nothing like the beloved iMovie I had been using - no
timeline, stupid "events" and a new interface designed by
developers with very, very thick glasses, and tiny hands.
But maybe it doesn't really suck as bad as it seems.
Noteboom Productions thought it sucked really bad
too. So they decided to help us old fogies get
up to speed with Tutor for iMovie '11.

03 Will iPad 2 Have What It Takes
By the time you read this the iPad 2 should have moved
from rumor to real. With the tablet market maturing faster
than you can say dual-core processors and the first real
Android OS for tablets (Honeycomb) starting to ship on
tablets like the new Motorola Xoom, we ask will the new iPad
2 have what it takes to compete with these new improved
Honeycomb-based Android tablets? The answer may depend on
what gets announced on Wednesday morning but based on rumors
and educated guesses we're not so sure. Here is Jennifer
Jacobson's rundown of some of the arguments on both sides.

04 Search Alliance no threat to Google
The Yahoo! / MSN Search Alliance, which rolled out in
the US late last year - and with mixed results, transitions
in Europe imminently. As advertisers and agencies this side
of the Atlantic await its arrival, leading search marketing
specialist and technology firm Greenlight, is sceptical it
will finally deliver on being a serious Google competitor.
Moreover, Greenlight has uncovered shortcomings when it
comes to paid search with the Alliance and what it really
offers the advertiser.

05 Lesa Snider
My friend Lesa Snider has some exciting things going on.
Lesa is past president of the Cowtown MUG here in Fort Worth
and was on the User Group Advisory Board for quite awhile.
She is planning on a 7 night river cruise from Budapest to
Nuremberg with a 2-night Prague-add on available. This is a
photograph journey with classes on "Taking Better Pictures
with Any Cameras" well as "Editing with Photoshop Elements
and iPhoto '11."

06 Metadata comes to iPad
Photo Enthusiasts Rejoice with expanded metadata on
iPad! Sort Shots - iPad Edition now features photo metadata
viewing capabilities along with improved importing, sorting
and audio/video cable support.

07 Free iMedia Browser 2
Karelia Software has released iMedia Browser 2, a major
new update to its popular iMedia Browser, a free utility
that adds the familiar "media browser" experience to just
about any Mac app.

-------------------------------------------------------------------
08 eMail archiver & backup
Email archiver creates a hierarchy of PDFs of all your
Mac OS X Mail, which allows for archival quality email
storage, something that Apple's Mail lacks. Filed Documents
is a tool which simplifies the repetitive filing of incoming
documents, such as downloads or scanned PDFs.

-------------------------------------------------------------------
09 Build your own polls
NPolls 1.1 now enables users to create their own polls
... this unique polling app that enables users to
simultaneously express their opinions, and earn cash.
Version 1.1 now enables users to create their own polls.
Surveys can be created within the App for a very small
price.

10 Circuloid
Macoscope, an independent iOS and Mac software
development company has a new Circuloid game for the iPad.
In Circuloid, the player becomes former white-collar agent
John Circuloid, accepts his first undercover mission and
gets the ball rolling, literally.

-------------------------------------------------------------------
11 Audiobook Binder
This application is used to change audiobooks in MP3
format to MP4 bookmarkable (m4b) format. I prefer this nice
GUI version, but there actually is a listing if you prefer
to use Terminal (Command Line Interface.)

12 You Gotta See This!
Boinx Software has released You Gotta See This! to
include two of the most user-requested features. The new
transparent theme allows users to more easily integrate
images into their creative workflows, while high-resolution
viewing lets users admire their panographs in all their
glory.

-------------------------------------------------------------------
13 Tembo 1.3
Houdah Software has announced Tembo 1.3. A demo version
is available. Tembo is an efficient search tool that is
based upon the Spotlight engine. Tembo makes searching (and
finding) of files, mail messages, bookmarks, - as easy as
possible. Tembo's strengths are its easy to use interface as
well as the context sensitive filters to narrow down search
results.

14 Public Speaking: We Promise You Won't Die
Erik Deckers and Kyle Lacy cover everything you need to
know about public speaking, from learning how not to burst
into flames from nervousness to identifying speaking
opportunities to actually giving your talk.

15 Quotes: Dick Cavett, Dr. Seuss
"If you don't think every day is a good day,
just try missing one."
Dick Cavett
"Be who you are and say what you feel,
because those who mind don't matter and
those who matter don't mind."
- Dr. Seuss
