Sophos for Mac works very well. I have been running it on 2 of my personal
macs for a while now and have installed it on several systems of my
consulting clients. The only negative impact I have seen result from it, is
that is slows down the repair permissions process. As long as you disable
it before doing that, you¹re fine.
