02 Recent Malware; What To Do About It
Randy B. Singer, Co-author of The Macintosh Bible (4th,
5th, and 6th editions) has been around the Mac user group
community almost as long as the community has been around.
With the recent wave of malware scares for Mac users, Randy
writes in to the Apple User Group Discussion list :

03 Min-U Guide for Nikon DSLR
Independent developer Ken Tidwell has posted yet another
in his series of popular Min-U Guides to Nikon DSLRs. The
app provides quick, easy access to information by allowing
the user to 'drill down' through a topic, just like using
the camera menus, until they find exactly what they need.
For example, a new photographer may want to find out how to
set the camera's self-timer so he can appear in a group shot.

04 Safenetting : Malware, phishing, spam, etc.
We got an email after last week's InfoManager requesting we halt
the phishing, cybercrime reports referring to SOPA and PIPA. Hmmmm, it
was a surprise, but not really surprising. We know that most of our
readers already know about cybercrime and all that. What we hope,
however, is that some of our user group newsletter editors will run
the Safenetting Infomanager and reach people in their memberships
who may not be quite as computer savvy as our main Infomanager
subscribers.
Anyway, here are just a few from this week's cache
* Who's to blame for Twitter spam? Obama, Gaga and you
* Flashback flaw re-used by new Mac malware campaign
* Conficker Infections Put Flashback In Perspective
* India overtakes US to become biggest spammer
* Banks may not have to pay for phished users
* Windows Foolproof Protector Bombs
* Fighting ACH Fraud -- Four Steps
* Malware LinkedIn Notifications
and more . . .

05 Fumy 2.2 -- Brilliant Image Tool
Neatberry has announced the release of Fumy 2.2 for Mac OS X. Fumy
is an unusual bitmap editor focused on special effects. The main
feature of the application is the 'Smoke' tool, since version 2.2
another great tool -- the 'Lightning' tool is available.

08 BlueCam PRO 4.0
Designed originally for iPhones with built-in Bluetooth

built-in Camera app which has remote control ability,
9x-153x zoom for photos & videos, photo & video timers,
photo & video filters, auto and manual uploading to
Facebook/Twitter/Flickr and many other features. The most
significant features are allowing a remote control user to:

10 Quotes: Dispenza, Disraeli
"The greatest good you can do for another
is not just share your riches,
but reveal to them their own."
- Benjamin Disraeli
"Every time we leave home and go to another place,
we open up the possibility of having something wonderful happen to us.
When we move out of the familiar here and now, we set in motion
a series of events that, taken together, bring about changes
at the very root of our being."
- Joseph Dispenza
