03 Facebook : CISPA Another round of Pros and Cons
Infomanager is building a facts sheet on the new issues
surrounding CISPA, but it was not ready for today's Infomanager.
Michael Lambert shared multiple links on Facebook, this link
goes to a video article "Here is why, CISPA More Dangerous than SOPA !"
. . . by an unidentified spokesperson.
It is the slippery slope
... we know because our Safenetting and Spamcop operatives track
some 7 to 9 THOUSAND attacks per day on U.S. individuals, business
and government --
See our alert above; that's real -- not political bantaring.
Those attacks are a real and present danger.
The question is, how safe do you want to be?

04 Anonymous Turns Up the Volume on Internet Blackout
The controversial CISPA was reintroduced and passed in the House
with a 288-127 vote. Anonymous announced an internet blackout protest
on Monday, April 22nd for 24 hours.
Anonymous (used as a mass noun) is a loosely associated hacktivist
group. It originated in 2003 on the imageboard 4chan, representing
the concept of many online and offline community users simultaneously
existing as an anarchic, digitized global brain.
The group strongly opposes Internet censorship and surveillance,
and has hacked various government websites. It has also targeted major
security corporations. It also opposes Scientology and government
corruption.

Guy Fawkes masks. (The Guy Fawkes mask is a stylised depiction of Guy
Fawkes, the best-known member of the Gunpowder Plot, an attempt to blow
up the House of Lords in London in 1605. http://ow.ly/kgLR3

The 'boomer' generation is reaching the phase of estate planning,
and as we watch some of our fellow user group members and officers pass
into the next world, we need to start thinking about our own digital
estates. Fred Showker's 60-Second Window this week addresses this whole
subject, head on

13 Quotes: Making Decisions
Most decisions are seat-of-the-pants judgments.
You can create a rationale for anything.
In the end, most decisions are based on intuition and faith.
--Nathan Myhrvold (in "The Microsoft Provocateur" by Auletta
New Yorker)
The more urgent the need for a decision, the less apparent becomes
the identity of the decision-maker.
--Murphy's Eighteenth Law
In a moment of decision, the best thing you can do is
the right thing to do.
The worst thing you can do is nothing.
--Theodore Roosevelt
