There is no question in my mind that this group should continue in some form. No matter how low the traffic volume may seem to be, I have gotten value out of most of the discussions here and I expect that I will into the future. And if a low-administrative-overhead solution is found to maintain the list, why the heck not keep it going?
The simplest means to establish a new "List" location, IMO, is to create a Yahoo Group or Google Group. Both have qualities I consider important: easy to get started, easy to administer, widely understood by the user base (I would strongly suspect many of you are already part of groups on these services, and/or you already have an account with one or both services). Another perk is that they both allow members to interact via email or a web site interface (I have found that not everyone likes to participate in such discussions via email).
I agree that at least a partial factor in the low traffic on this list has to do with responses going to senders, and not the whole list. I've never liked that arrangement.
