i`m using MPEG Streamcplip to convert, or QTpro.
I'm not sure about Streamclip, but there are some third-party
QuickTime Pro actions available that may help...

Just Google "QuickTime automator actions", or check Apple's Mac OS X
Downloads section, and see what you can find.
The Streamclip has an useful feature of batch conversion. To convert
a gsoup of files, you have to go to the List menu, click in Batch
List, then Add, and so on, and i don`t se a way to automate it. I
tried in a workflow to open finder items and then open the software,
but it didn`t work.
I tried to use Watch me do, but i had to specify the exact files as
part of the sequence, so i could`nt use it in a more general fashion.
You could try using "Watch Me Do" to perform certain parts of the
workflow, and incorporate them with other existing actions. For
example, you could potentially use "Get Specified Finder Items" or
"Ask for Finder Items" to specify the files. Then, "Open Finder
Items" to open them in Streamclip or QuickTime. Then, "Watch Me Do"
to perform the desired tasks.
Hope this helps.
