the AppleScript basics of this are pretty simple:
tell application "QuickTime Player"
set theTest to new screen recording
start theTest
delay 12
stop theTest
end tell
however, using a delay for any amount of time would destroy your CPU.
delay is not kind. You could try an idle loop, but I'm unsure as to how
precise that would be.
what you could do is a bit tricky, but could work. Have an applescript on
an idle loop that waits for the appropriate time.
at that point the script does one thing:
tell application "automator" to execute workflow "theWorkflow"
you can probably let it run forever without much resource usage.
that workflow (or whatever you name it) has three steps:
quicktime start capture
pause
quicktime stop capture
if you set up the pause correctly, it should work well enough, although
the space requirements could be quite large.
