I've got a 20 inch apple cinema display - happy user...
the screen shows the picture (photoshop 7.0) a bit too much red... so I
opened Colorsync under system-control-panel (osx10.2.6)
is there a why to correct that without using
hardware-calibrations-tools?
You do not want to try editting a monitor profile. You will invariably reduce the color gamut of your display. Posably to something around or smaler than sRGB.
Why would you not want to evaluate color on your $1200.00 plus cinema display with anything less than a calibration tool that will give you a greater acuracy than correcting with your eyes can ever give you? Dig deep and spend the $250.00. You will save yourself a lot of time and agrivation trying to get your display only close.
GreytagMacbeth Eye-One Display or the Monaco OPTIX are good choices.
