I believe this is so. If I take a file in PS7 that I am currently
working on (my images are tagged with Kodak DCS RGB). and select print
and select my Epson 2200. Then I set all the settings as I would
normally set them (Paper type, no color correction) but I don't print
it, I save this image as a PDF file via the print PDE. I then open that
PDF image that I just created using the print in PS7 and I find this new
file is tagged with Generic RGB. So I do believe you are correct since
this has been my observation.
However, when I open the image in PS and display it on my monitor, which
I have calibrated with EasyColor, it has a heavy magenta cast. But if I
had printed the image rather than save it to PDF it prints quite close
to what I see on the monitor. Just as long as I select "no color
correction". If I select ColorSync, the image will print with the
magenta cast that I see when I selected "save as PDF" and opened that
PDF in PS.

Bob
