Eric,
Whoa! Before you spend that extra £450, you can try averaging your
measurements in Excel, as mentioned by Andrew in his excellent book Color
Management for Photographers (CMFP).
When you've measured your target, save the spectral data in a text file,
then import this into Excel as a tab separated file. Once you've done this
for two or more sets of measurements then just use Excel to average the
spectral data, preserving the red tape info at start & end of the file. Then
feed the result to ProfileMaker.
I also bought the 'PM 5 Photostudio / Eye-One Pro' solution recently (their
one-day offer on Dec 14th was too much to resist), and discovered the
'greyed out' averaging function in MeasureTool. Somewhere in the GM
literature it does say 'basic' for MeasureTool in this bundle, so I didn't
expect to get much out of MeasureTool apart from measuring :-) It was a
pleasant surprise to find that the Difference function in MeasureTool worked
- a really useful feature.
IMO the GMB special offer was good value & enabled many photographers to
gain access to high-end profiling kit at the same price you would have paid
for Eye-One Match a couple of years ago.

Alan
